Southwest Children’s Academy

We are a state licensed childcare facility located off of Loop 306 in San Angelo, TX. The children in our care are ages 6 weeks to 12. We are not just a daycare but also a preschool. Learning is very important to us and we are constantly striving to learn new innovative ways to teach the children. Our center is on the National Food program and we accept Childcare Assistance through the Texas Workforce. To learn more, please come by for a tour!

About Our Center

  • Curriculum and Learning

    We use multiple curriculums to make sure that our children are learning at the highest levels. Every classroom from infant to prekindergarten uses Frog Street curriculum. We also have Circle curriculum from our Texas School Ready grant that has greatly enhanced the learning in our classrooms. Lessons are planned to work on reading and math readiness, art, science, motor and social skills.

  • Hours of Operation

    We are open Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 5:45 pm. Hours of care for children under 18 months is 7:00 am until 5:30 pm.

    ***All children must be in attendance before 9:30 am.

  • Afterschool Pickup

    We pick up from Bonham, Bowie and Lamar Elementary School. When the children arrive they have snack and play until they get picked up.

    For an additional cost, full day care is available when school is not in session.

  • Grant Involvement

    Our center is currently participating in the Texas School Ready and Texas Rising Star grant. Both of these grants help to supplement instruction and work with our teachers to create the best learning environment. They also work with our teachers so they are aware of the most up to date teaching techniques. Our goal is to have all children be kindergarten ready by working with them on their reading, math and writing skills.

If you would like a more in-depth look at our center, please come by and an office staff would love to give you a tour.

  • In the toddler aged classrooms, we work on social skills along with our curriculum. These classrooms focus on foundations of learning such as colors, shapes and numbers.

  • We continue to build on the foundations education in the older toddler classrooms. In the two year old classrooms, we help potty train the students and have all students using the potty exclusively by age three. In the three year old class we continue to learn using Frog Street Curriculum and develop fine and large motor skills.

  • We strive to have every child be Kindergarten ready. This classroom is currently on the Texas School Ready grant and education is our main priority. In this classroom we use a hybrid of Frog Street and Circle curriculum to teach reading, math, science and creative arts.


  • We start Frog Street and Circle curriculum in the infant classroom. Our youngest infant classroom is also on the Texas School Ready grant.
